Opinion to the Swedish Migration Agency and consultation with Swedish Public Employment Service

If you apply for work permit in Sweden or shall participate in labor market policy program, The Swedish Association of Professional Scientists could make an opinion about the employer.

Opinion to the Swedish Migration Agency

If you are a citizen in a country outside the EU you need a work permission to become a employe in Sweden. The work permission must be finished before you travel to Sweden. On the Swedish Migration Agency's website you can find work permit requirements.

Trade unions have the opportunity to comment on the terms of employment offered to the applicant in matters concerning work permits at the Swedish Migration Agency. In the opinion, the union assesses whether salary, insurance and other conditions that appear in the job offer are worse than a collective agreement or what is customary for the profession or industry.

The Swedish Association of Professional Scientists submit an opinion to the Swedish Migration Agency if the employer has a collective agreement and if we have sufficient information about the employer. Otherwise, The Swedish Association of Professional Scientists refrains from commenting because we have too little information about the employer who has submitted the employment offer.

Opinion to Swedish Public Employment Service

Before a person begins a labor market policy program/initiative with an employer, the Swedish Public Employment Service must consult with the relevant trade union to ensure that wages and conditions correspond to collective agreements in the profession or industry. The consultation must take place before the initiative begins.

The Swedish Association of Professional Scientists submit an opinion to the Swedish Public Employment Service if we have sufficient information about the employer.
