
Naturvetarnas' members are highly educated, with one in three having a doctoral degree. But there are major differences between different groups in terms of work environment and career opportunities. Reasonable working hours, manageable workloads and the opportunity to influence one's everyday life are crucial for coping and well-being. Security should apply in all work situations and at all workplaces, but also when changing jobs or becoming unemployed.
We work to ensure that it pays to invest in an academic education. Scientists should have competitive salaries and good working conditions - not least when working life is extended.
Managers must have a mandate to create sustainable conditions in dialog with their employees. And trade union representatives play a key role in ensuring fair conditions in the workplace.
Health, work-life balance and flexibility - such as hybrid work and adapted working hours - are important health factors. But flexibility must not be at the expense of career opportunities.
