§ 1
Purpose and task
The Forestry Academics is a sub-union of Naturvetarna. The task of the Forestry Academics is to
to safeguard the interests of its members in matters that affect their professional lives as employees, contractors or as self-employed persons,
to safeguard the interests of the membership in labor market issues and in forest industry and social issues,
to promote higher education in forestry and forestry science and to work for the development of the professional skills of its members, and
to strengthen comradeship and a sense of belonging within the membership.
§ 2
Decision-making and executive bodies
The highest decision-making body of the Forest Academics is the members' meeting and, where appropriate, an extraordinary members' meeting. The Forest Academics' activities are led by a board.
§ 3
Membership
Members of Naturvetarna with forestry competence or forestry professional affiliation and those studying for a forestry university degree are registered in the Forest Academics.
This registration is not against the member's will.
The member is obliged to be loyal to the Academy of Forestry and to pay any affiliation fees. Withdrawal from the Forest Academics must be requested in writing. Withdrawal takes place at the end of the month after application.
Expulsion of a member, with immediate effect, may be decided by the Board if the member
- fails to fulfill his/her obligations to the Forest Academics according to § 3 or
- clearly harms the Forest Academics.
An expelled member is entitled to have the decision reconsidered by the board or the members' meeting.
An honorary member may be appointed by the members' meeting if the member has rendered outstanding services to the Forest Academics. Honorary members pay no membership fee.
§ 4
Membership fee
The members' meeting determines any membership fee to the Forest Academics.
§ 5
Sub-associations
The Members' Meeting decides whether an association can be adopted as a sub-association, which has been formed to safeguard the common interests of a particular group of members. The relationship between the Forest Academics and the sub-association should serve the purposes of both organizations. §6
Membership meeting
Membership meetings shall be held every other year, on odd years, before May 1. Notice of the meeting shall be issued at least two weeks before the meeting. It shall state the business to be transacted. The following matters shall be discussed at the members' meeting:
1. Election of the chairman of the meeting
2. Election of the secretary of the meeting
3. Election of a person to verify the minutes, who will also count the votes at the meeting
4. question of the validity of the ordinary meeting
5. adoption of the agenda with notification of any other business
6. Annual reports and annual accounts of the federations and foundations
7. auditors' report
8. determination of
a) any membership fees
b) any budget
9. Election of
a) election of the President of the Forest Academics for two years
b) election of other board members for two years
c) election of an auditor with deputy for two years
d) other elections
10. Election of members of the Nomination Committee and notification of the Board's election under § 8
11. Matters submitted by the Board to the Members' Meeting

13. Matters raised by a member for discussion
14. other matters for discussion At a meeting of members, each member present has one vote and the right to vote for a maximum of two absent members by written proxy.
A meeting of members may only decide on a matter raised in the notice of the meeting.
The decision of the meeting shall be taken by the opinion receiving the most votes, unless the Statutes provide otherwise. If a vote is requested, it shall be taken openly, unless a request is made for a secret ballot. In the event of a tie in an open vote, the chairman of the meeting has the casting vote. In the event of a secret ballot, the votes are cast by lot. A member has the right to enter a reservation against a decision of the general meeting in plenary session.
Following a decision by the Executive Committee, it shall be possible to vote by e-mail on election matters.
§ 7
Extraordinary meeting of members
When the Board deems it necessary or when at least a quarter of the members so request in writing, the Association shall convene an extraordinary meeting of members. Section 6 shall then apply in selected parts.
§ 8
Election Committee
The members of the Election Committee shall be appointed as follows:
One member who is also the convener is appointed by the outgoing board, and four members are appointed by the members' meeting. The Election Committee shall, no later than one month prior to the Members' Meeting, notify the Board of proposals for the elections to be made at the Members' Meeting.
§ 9
Board of Directors
The Board of the Forestry Academics consists of a chairman and a minimum of four and a maximum of six members. The members are appointed by the members' meeting. The Board shall, as far as possible, reflect the membership structure of the Forestry Academics.
The board appoints a vice-chairman from among its members. The Board may co-opt two student representatives. The Board, which has its seat in Stockholm/Nacka, meets when convened by the Chair or, in his/her absence, by the Vice Chair. If at least half the number of members so request, a meeting shall be convened within 30 days. A quorum shall exist when at least half the members, including the Chairperson, are present. Decisions of the Board shall be taken by a simple majority. In the event of a tie, the Chairman shall have a casting vote.
§ 10
Minutes of meetings
Minutes shall be taken at members' meetings, extraordinary members' meetings and Board meetings.
§ 11
Proposals from individual members
Proposals raised by individual members for consideration at a members' meeting must be sent in writing to the Board and must be received by the Board no later than 40 days before the members' meeting. The proposal shall be reported by the Board to the members' meeting.
§ 12
Financial management
The Forest Academics' funds, if any, are administered by the Board of the Forest Academics and shall be reported at the members' meeting. The accounts shall be closed per calendar year and be available to the auditors at least four weeks before the members' meeting.
§ 13
Kamratfonden Foundation
Information is provided at the Forest Academics' members' meeting on the fund's annual report and audit report.
§ 14
The von Porat Foundation
Information is provided at the Forest Academics' members' meeting on the Foundation's annual report and audit report.
§ 15
Audit
The trustee auditor shall submit the audit report to the Board no later than two weeks before the members' meeting.
§ 16
Amendment of the Statutes
Amendments to these statutes require identical decisions with at least 2/3 majority at two consecutive membership meetings, at least one of which must be an ordinary membership meeting. There must be at least one month between meetings.
Amendments to the Statutes of the Forestry Academics' Sub-Association must be approved by the Board of Naturvetarnas.
§ 17
Dissolution
The Forest Academics' dissolution requires a decision in the same way as for amending the statutes. At the last meeting, it is decided how to handle the assets of the Forestry Academics after the dissolution. The assets shall be disposed of for one or more purposes in accordance with the tasks of the Forestry Academy, as specified in §1.
