Union of Forestry Academics

The association includes foresters, foresters and forest engineers with a professional degree, as well as people with a university degree in forestry. Other natural scientists with forestry tasks are also welcome as members.

Membership of the Swedish Forestry Academics Association is free. You can also be a member as a forestry student.

The association works with

Skogsakademikerna works to market and highlight forestry graduates and their skills and to be a network for forestry graduates. Skogsakademikerna promotes the interests of forestry graduates within Naturvetarna.

Scholarships

Skogsakademikerna awards scholarships from the Kamratfonden Foundation and the von Porat Foundation. Read more about scholarships here.

The forestry academy badge

At a meeting in Geneva in 1963 with the European Forestry Commission, the proposal for a European union label for forestry academics was raised. About twenty countries immediately agreed. Others have since acquired the label. Today, it is worn by a large number of forestry academics. Since the badge is very beautiful and also helps to create contacts between colleagues both within the country and internationally, the badge has been a symbol for forestry academics in Sweden since 1965.

Newly graduated forestry academics receive the badge as a gift. The hope is that the badge will fulfill its purpose and create better contacts among forestry academics in and outside Sweden.
