The association works with
DRF works to develop the professional role of dietitian and to make dietitians visible. DRF initiates and supports development and research projects in the field of nutrition and participates actively in the public debate.
DRF also acts as a referral body. Within DRF there are:
- Local associations
- Reference groups
- Scientific Council
- Working group on ethics
- Editorial Council
- Network for community theologians
It costs SEK 60 per month for professionals to join DRF. You can also be a member if you are studying to become a dietitian, as a student you pay SEK 60 per year.
DRF publishes two digital newsletters a month, every other time with more general information and every other time with more internal information from the board, sections, working groups and more.

DRF is a member of the European dietitian organization ESPEN, the European Federation of the Associations of Dietitians (EFAD) and SWESPEN.
