Djursjukskötarnas Riksförbund is an association of members of Naturvetarna and the membership fee is SEK 120 per year. You can also join as a student.
We need more members!
Many veterinary nurses have chosen to join Naturvetarna and thus taken a clear stand for a civil service agreement. We have come a long way, but to reach the goal we need your help to become more. All licensed veterinary nurses are welcome as members of Naturvetarna. Regardless of whether you have obtained a license on transitional rules or by taking an academic degree.
For those of you who are veterinary nurses, it's about taking a stand. Do you want to be part of a union that clearly promotes your interests as a veterinary nurse? We need your support to come to the negotiating table for better working conditions with greater individual influence.
The association works to
- to spread knowledge about our specific professional competence
- to develop and deepen our professional role
- to raise our status
- that there will be many more of us
- to improve our working environment
Naturvetarna believes:
- Animal nurses are a new profession that came into being when the license was introduced with a requirement for a three-year academic education in animal care. The fact that there have been transitional rules allowing people with extensive experience to take a knowledge test does not mean that the profession as such is the same as the previous profession of animal nurse.
- Animal nurses have qualified tasks and act on their own responsibility in animal health care. Therefore, like veterinarians, they should be covered by collective agreements. It is the tasks they perform that determine whether they are blue-collar or white-collar workers. The basis of collective agreements for white-collar workers is the importance of the individual to the business; the basis of agreements for blue-collar workers is the importance of the collective to the business.
- That the choice of trade union is made on the basis of personal conviction and must be respected. In Sweden we have freedom of association, which presupposes that all organizations have the opportunity to represent their members.
