Felix Makowsky, Chairman
Currently working as a geologist at Scandinavian Infra with focus on tunnel production. Has previously worked as a field geotechnician and construction geologist and has complemented this practical experience in the field and production with modeling, programming and production simulation. "My overall goal is to bridge the gap between education and professional life that I myself experienced to some extent during my time as a student." Graduated with a master's degree in geology from Stockholm University in 2015.
Tobias C. Kampmann, Vice President
Works as an administrator at Vinnova, the Swedish Innovation Agency. Previous career as a researcher in ore geology at Luleå University of Technology. Educational background with focus on bedrock and ore geology from RWTH Aachen University (B.Sc.), Germany, as well as from Lund University (M.Sc.) and Luleå University of Technology (PhD).
Otto Pile, Treasurer
M.Sc. in Soil Geology. After a number of project positions, I have worked at SGU for 15 years. My main task is the mapping and description of Sweden's soils within defined areas.
Liselott Kutscher, secretary
I work as an environmental consultant at WSP in the section for contaminated areas. I currently work with sulfide rock problems in the construction industry and in old mining areas, environmental technical investigations and risk assessments of contaminated areas. I have also worked a lot with water management studies and stormwater studies. Basically, I have a Master's degree in Earth Sciences with a focus on bedrock geology and geochemistry and a Bachelor's degree in Marine Geology.
Magnus Johansson, Member
Currently working at SGU with material supply and has a past as an employee, self-employed and consultant, where I have worked with industrial minerals, soil environment, quarries, permit issues and dam safety. I have a broad academic background with a double Master's degree in Geology and Physical Geography from the University of Hannover and am a European Geologist(EurGeol) External link..
Gerhard Schwarz, Member
Worked for more than 25 years as a Geophysicist at SGU in Uppsala where he was responsible for observations of the Earth's magnetic field in time and space. Also worked with geothermal and near-surface
issues. Gerhard grew up and was educated in Germany where he was then involved in interdisciplinary investigations of active and passive continental margins for almost 20 years. Today he is retired, but still very interested in geosciences and socio-political issues.
Michaela Åberg Seliö, Member
Is project manager for rock and tunnel maintenance in the Central region for the Swedish Transport Administration. Has previously worked as a consultant in infrastructure and community development as a project manager / technical manager in rock engineering. Before that, I have experience in the mining industry with mine planning and as a mapping geologist. Master's degree in bedrock geology from Uppsala University.
Volker Kelm, Member
Works at Gislaved municipality, mainly with issues related to contaminated areas and groundwater. The goal is to develop strategies and to promote development in this area. On the side, I run research projects together with the University of Gothenburg, including chlorinated hydrocarbons, PFAS and risk assessment. I graduated in geology with a specialization in chemistry at the University of Giessen, Germany. Interestingly, my education integrated geology and geotechnics. I am passionate about spreading knowledge and highlighting the necessity of a solid scientific competence on the government side. I believe that networking is an incredibly important part of our everyday lives. You can never know everything in your field, but you always need to know who you can call to get the answer.
Karolina Lagerquist, student member
I am at the end of my bachelor's degree in geology, geochemistry & geophysics at Stockholm University. Have worked on deck in Stockholm archipelago traffic and also with sampling at sea. I enjoy working in the field and lab and with geology linked to sustainability and environmental issues.
During my time at the program, I have been involved as a student representative at the Department of Geological Sciences and I look forward to working further with the link between students and the labor market in the geosciences section.
Hanna Lundström, student representative
Studying on the Master's program in Earth Sciences with a specialization in Physical Geography at Uppsala University. Previously has a bachelor's degree in geoscience from Stockholm University. Before the bachelor I studied one year of geography at Stockholm University. Has worked as a field geotechnician and made a soil mapping. I find issues such as sustainable development and landscape development exciting.
