The unemployment insurance fund for Naturvetarnas members is called Akademikernas a-kassa. It costs SEK 130 per month to join. It is one of the most affordable insurance schemes on the market for academics.
It may also be an idea to join the unemployment insurance fund as a student member. You can receive compensation from Akademikernas a-kassa when you look for a job after your degree. Therefore, if you work extra during your studies, it may be a good idea to join the unemployment insurance fund.
- Membership of the Akademikernas a-kassa is not included in membership of Naturvetarna; you must apply for it separately on the Akademikernas a-kassa website.
- You must be a member of Akademikernas a-kassa to be entitled to Naturvetarnas income insurance.
Terms and conditions
If you switch to Akademikernas a-kassa from another unemployment insurance fund, the membership period in the previous unemployment insurance fund will be credited. Akademikernas a-kassa can help you switch so that there is no gap in time.
