For government employees covered by Villkorsavtal-T, you have the right to take a leave of absence to try out another fixed-term employment within the government, which is covered by Villkorsavtal-T. The condition is that you have had a permanent position for at least 12 months.
This does not apply if you are appointed to a managerial or comparable post with entitlement to a manager's pension.
You must submit your request for leave at least two months before the start of your leave.
If you wish to interrupt your leave, you must inform the employer who granted it. This must be done at least two months before the date on which you wish to return to your original job. If you have a probationary period that is terminated early, you must inform your employer of your return at least two weeks in advance.
You may also be granted leave for employment outside the state sector. Such leave may not exceed six months, unless your employer considers that there are special reasons for longer leave.
If you work in the private sector or in local government, you have no legal right to take leave to try out a job with another employer. You can always ask, but it is up to the employer to agree.
