What should I be paid if I work during my holidays?
First of all, I would like to emphasize that holidays are for recovering and resting from work. It is therefore important to have your vacation and, according to the Holiday Act, you are entitled to four weeks of continuous leave during June-August.
However, your employer can order you to interrupt your vacation if there are particularly serious reasons. If your employer wants you to interrupt your vacation to come in and work, I recommend that you contact the Naturvetarnas advisory service and we will help you find out whether the employer has sufficiently weighty reasons.
If you are ordered to interrupt your vacation to come in and work, your regular salary applies unless otherwise agreed or stated in a local or central collective agreement.
