Does an employer have to advertise vacancies?
The requirement to advertise a post differs depending on the sector in which the employer operates.
In the state sector, the employer must normally advertise vacancies so that they can be applied for competitively. The position must be advertised via "notice boards" according to the Employment Regulation. As "notice boards" are outdated, the position is usually advertised on the authority's website and on the website of the employment service.
In the private sector, there is no statutory obligation to advertise posts.
In municipalities and regions, there is also no requirement to advertise posts. On the other hand, some municipalities and regions have policies stating that certain posts must be advertised.
