Where are the jobs?
Agronomists and agricultural engineers work for government agencies and in the food and environmental sectors. They are also found at county administrative boards, municipalities, and agricultural schools within county councils. In the private sector, they are most commonly found in wholesale and retail trade, companies in accounting, banking, and insurance, food companies, as well as cooperatives and organizations.
A large proportion of natural scientists in the sector own their own farms, which partly explains why as many as 25 percent run their own businesses. This can be compared to the fact that 4 percent of all working natural scientists run businesses.
