Agronomists and surveyors work in government agencies and in the food and environmental sectors. They can also be found in county administrative boards, municipalities and county council agricultural schools. In the business sector, they are most often found in wholesale and retail trade, accounting, banking and insurance companies, food companies, cooperatives and organizations.

The most common tasks for agronomists and farmers are management, advisory services, and project and business management related to agriculture. Farmers often have a supervisory position on farms.
